DISCOVER NEW YORK, USA
When you think of New York, is it the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building, could it be Central Park or Rockefeller Centre and Wall Street, this is a city with so much to see. Flights from the UK are around 8 hours into JFK. A good base to stay is Times Square and the area around it as it is close to everything. Getting around New York is easy with ample buses, taxis and the subway and of course the Ferries from island to island.
From times square you are only a short wall for the Rockefeller Centre with the recognisable Atlas bronze statue. You can aim across to Lexington Avenue to see the Art Deco Chrysler Building and well worth a visit from there is the stunning Grand Central Station. From there you can venture over to 5th Avenue where you will see such names as Tiffany’s, Louis Vuitton, Armani and many, many, more. Your next stop is likely to be the Empire State Building with stunning views of Manhattan.
On everyone’s places to visit is Ellis Island and to see the Statue of Liberty you can get a ferry from Battery Park or if you buy the City Pass which includes admission to the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island plus the American Museum of History, and Top of the Rock Observation Deck so if you are there a few days this can offer great value.
But the list doesn't end there you can go to a show on Broadway, see Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge and visit 911 Ground Zero and that is before you walked through Central Park. Oh and let's not forget you still need to eat and drink. There is an abundance of places to suit all tastes and all budgets, from a New York Steak House, Italian, to fine dining with influences of French and Italian cuisine.
No wonder New York is known as the City which never sleeps and the list is endless and fun is waiting for you.
